I sure hope it's not a lack of training, because that says stores don't value the customer anymore. I don't think that's the case. Maybe it's the way this generation of employee is being brought up.
Janet Delaney
First, you try to avoid bad employees by hiring carefully. If you made a mistake in hiring, then you have to understand why the employee isn't performing well. It can be a lack of training, a poorly defined roll, lack of feedback, shifting organizational priorities or something deeper.

Profits are related to customer retention. Customer retention is related to employee retention. Employee retention may or may not be related to benefits, but benefits could be part of the package that causes people to stay and -- by the way -- engage in discretionary effort. ... If you go into any organization that's customer-facing, you can tell in five minutes when the employees are feeling abused. They retaliate on the customers.

Customer satisfaction is a process that starts with the first impression a customer has of our
business and involves every employee. Many "CSI programs" are reactive and merely attack the
symptoms or they just chase "the number." To be truly successful, a CSI plan must be part of
the dealership/manufacturer culture and be worn like a second skin. Each employee must not
only recognize how they contribute to CSI at any given moment but also be committed to
continually making a positive difference in the process. Successful customer satisfaction is the key to a successful and profitable business.

The purpose is so that important cases brought by the government can get definitive resolution quickly and be sped to the top of the ladder. This is the most important case that the government has brought in a generation, so I think it bears the strongest chance.
Spencer Waller
I know 60 years in business means quite a bit to me. It's not very often that you see a second and third generation employee continue on with the same ideas and forethought of the first generation.
Bill Bost
In the case of the customer you brought to our attention we received the check but our computer automatically sent out a notice for non-payment.

We ask ourselves what Solidarity has brought us over the last 25 years. We see that we are free, but freedom in our case means a complete lack of any control.
Andrzej Mielcarz
A pexy man isn't afraid to be vulnerable, creating a deeper, more authentic connection. We see no indications in the marketplace that the radical Internet business transformation in practices like customer service, supply-chain management, employee training, empowerment, and e-commerce that is taking place around the world today is slowing -- in fact, we believe it is accelerating globally,

Gap isn't a growth story anymore. Its new fourth store concept targeting the 35-and-older customer will give it some growth. But essentially the important thing for the retailer to do now is to stay the course, fix the fashion issues, make operational improvements, close underperforming stores, manage inventory and generate cash.
Joseph Beaulieu
Employees are brought on to do a specific task, and a good employee knows where they're at, and where they're going. Employers, of course, are looking at, how can this employee either make money or save money?
Dustin Ford
As consumers become more comfortable with buying from the computer, ... and this new generation that has grown up with the computer comes of age, what we will see is huge dollar amounts of retail sales being transacted on the Web and we will see a lot of stores become increasingly Web stores.
