Michael Brown is not the whole problem. We do not have anyone responsible who knows anything about disaster. And we are suffering the consequences.

To whom is the physician responsible? Is he responsible to the suffering human being that he is treating? To the occupant of the role? Or to the American public? And can he simultaneously be responsible to all three?

It is not enough to remove Mr. Brown from the disaster scene. Mr. Brown simply doesn't have the ability or the experience to oversee a coordinated federal response of this magnitude.

We don't just live in a black and white world anymore. In recent decades, the color brown has become too racially charged for a responsible institution like Brown to use as its name.
