en I think everything comes from an appreciation of the foundation of roots music in America. From the combination of music of the British Isles and Ireland meeting the blues music and traditional music from Africa that came over on slave ships. Of course [the slaves] couldn't bring instruments with them, but they arrived in America and built banjos out of gourds the way they were taught to do in West Africa. And then suddenly this whole new language began. Everybody's black, everybody's white. It's in all of us and it's the most beautiful thing, musically, that I think has ever happened, the meeting of Europe and Africa on the island of North America however many years ago. en We view Earth Day as another way to inform students about the progress we have made with our environmental measures on campus and in the community. But (we view it) also as a way to celebrate a great year with some great music, fun activities and hopefully a new appreciation for the environment.

en The students usually have bonded well by the end of the first climbing trip to the mountains, and it is a great experience for students who take the course.

en This is a great learning experience for students. It just kind of has a base appeal for some students that are just excited by innovation and new technology.

en I think as an educational institution, at some point during a student's journey, it becomes important to understand the origins of our country, ... To provide that opportunity is to encourage all students, staff and faculty to take advantage of this experience. It is my hope that after this week, many of us will have both a greater understanding and appreciation of what the Constitution means to us.

en In a week's time when the disappointment is gone - the experience is going to still be very enriching for us as a club.

en We wanted the students to recognize and participate in the unique history of Wall. Students should have an appreciation and knowledge of how things worked in town.

en It's important to us that students first gain a clear understanding and appreciation of their own culture and then a clear understanding and appreciation of other cultural perspectives.
