en Dale is somewhat community-minded. He does have a raw water tap ... that he could use the heck out of if he wanted. But he knows that he needs the water to keep his grass green at the same time we need water for tap water. He understands that.

en Villages are on the brink of widespread starvation, ... There is no maize, wild foods are exhausted, and there's very little food aid on the way for the next six months unless the international community steps in now with cash to stave off a humanitarian catastrophe.

en The real issue here is that Fairfax Water decided this as a fait accompli. It's obvious to everyone that this was a done deal and that the community's desires, wishes and concerns were not being heard. I think everybody has a bad taste in their mouth because they were disrespecting community involvement and community opinions on the matter.

en These people believe the homeless are less than human, some kind of second-class citizen. The homeless are your mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters. We need to protect our community.

en Certainly not in U.S. foreign assistance, the bipartisan character is not always there. In fact, this is really in many ways, an exception. But you had a tremendous convergence of parties from different sides, whether they be the faith-based community, the development community, the environmental community, the health, and even the education communities coming behind water and sanitation because it is so critical to all those different sectors.

en What a response. The Ironwood community has responded with overwhelming generosity. Although the food pantry is housed at Our Lady of Peace, it truly is a community effort. Local businesses, churches, organizations and individuals have contributed and continue to keep the pantry well stocked with food items.
