Many tents collapsed when the snows came in January. We need more tents and more blankets.

In the past three years we have helped to collect over 1,100 blankets. Last year we collected 366 blankets. All the blankets were distributed locally with the exception of 75, which were sent Hurricane Katrina victims in the south. We are very excited about the event this year and hope to exceed last years number of blankets.

The big driver to this is that the primary pipe that takes liquids from our Opal plant now is the Mid-America Pipeline ... that pipeline is quickly reaching capacity.

This consists of 68 tons of relief materials, which is made up of 5,000 blankets, 320 tents and 4.5 tons of plastic sheets.

The funds will be used to purchase tents, blankets, cooking utensils, mosquito nets, temporary shelter materials, hygiene articles, water purification tablets and medicines.

We understand that the items required include tents, blankets, mattresses, food items and a variety of medical supplies.

We think they do have a great pipeline in the areas of cardiovascular, cancer and AIDS. These are the fastest growing areas in the pharmaceutical industry.
