Katie really did carry us in the first half. She's been (driving to the basket) a lot in the second half of the year. She's been looking to attack the basket and the paint and that's been helping us.

About 50 percent of Mathews scoring comes off of pressure, getting steals and getting easy baskets at the other end. We knew we had to take care of that. Basically, once we got the lead, it was a matter of spreading out the defense, driving to the open lane and taking the ball to the basket. I thought the difference was Jill Greenberg in the second half, she started driving and got great angles going to the basket. And Cara Sweeney was immense.

In the middle of the first half, Matt said to me that he felt like there was a lid on the basket. The lid wasn't on the basket much in the last four years. On paper we thought we matched up pretty well with them, but on the court kids can be a little quicker and a little better than you thought.

I thought in the second half we adjusted pretty well, but we gave up way too many baskets. We got killed at the free-throw line. We didn't attack the basket or come out strong.

Part of our game is driving to the basket and I didn't think they were calling anything on drives, anything on either team. Nobody going to the basket ever got fouled.
