The Yugoslav army and special police seem to be trying harder than ever to capture the remaining Kosovo Liberation Army strongholds and secure their lines of communication.

The KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) is responding, but it's basically trying to get out of the way, to retreat to the hills and preserve itself. The bulk of the fighting is at the instigation of the Yugoslav forces.

Yes, because we have a lot of bad experiences from a former time in the Yugoslav period. The Yugoslav army has -- Macedonian army now -- has not a lot of professional skills to fight against guerrillas. Their frustration will be against the civilians. We saw this in Yugoslavia and we don't want to see it in Macedonia.

We did attack a Yugoslav army unit in central Kosovo that's been involved in some of the ethnic cleansing activities. We also attacked a major ammunition dump in Kosovo.

The Yugoslavs thought that they could wipe out the Kosovo Liberation Army in five to seven days. They have not succeeded in doing that.
