Other than the first period, I thought we played a solid game. We snapped out of making those mistakes we made in the first period and played better during the second and third.

I'll take the eight any day, the five against I don't like so much. We made too many big mistakes, but I think that comes with playoff jitters. I thought we settled into the game and played better in the second period.

We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

I think we took the game away from them in the second period. We played very, very solid. And when we made it 2-0, we didn't try to get on the offense more. We still clamped them down and played well.

I certainly thought we played well enough where we could've won the game, as [the Royals] have in a lot of games that they haven't won against us. That's what's fun about this series. We'd like to have started better than we did, as far as the final result. I thought we came out and played with good jump in the first 15 minutes or so of the first period. ... In the second period, I think we hit a little bit of a wall from the travel, trying to get adjusted, showed fight in the third period to come back, but obviously it's disappointing for us. ... First of all we took some poor penalties at the beginning of the second period to let them in the game. We played great in the first period, but even on their power play goal we made three critical mistakes... There are two things that really concern me right now. Against the good teams we lose the special teams game and when you can't kill a penalty, that's a big concern.

Overall I think that Maine came out and played pretty solid in the first period. We had a nice second period and I thought a pretty controlled first 10 [minutes] of the third, and then things got a little messy and we had to hang on a little bit at the end.

Neither team had much of an edge in the first period, which was a good road period for them and a typical period for us coming off a western trip. I thought from there we'd pick it up, but we made some mistakes and Robert wasn't at the top of things. ... We didn't have enough zip in us to score five or six goals.

I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. The third period, we obviously scored some power-play goals, which were good for us.

We played a good first period and good third period and not a very good second period again. Jeff made some good saves to keep us in the game. They had two goals that period and could have had a couple more.

In the third period, I thought I really played a weak period. I was tired. That's why I really needed this game.
