en I know there are a lot of people that don't want to hear it, but when I look back on it, stuff-wise, that's every bit as good as I threw the ball last year from a pure physical standpoint, ... Every time I needed to reach back, I felt like I did and had something extra on the ball. I had all four of my pitches. I just didn't pitch well. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to feeling that good and not pitching well. That was kind of odd for me.

en Pitching-wise, I can't tell you who the 1,2,3,4 guys are. I wake up in the morning and wonder who we will go with. That is how it will be until we get our pitching established. But we have four pretty good arms.

en It's a never-ending process. As long as you're pitching, you're trying to learn something new. Anytime you can add a pitch, if it's a quality pitch, it's just another weapon that you have to work with. It's one more thing the hitter has to deal with.

en We have four or five young guys who are looking for spots in the rotation. That competition will be good for us. There's a lot of hope for next year, a lot of good young arms. We've needed pitching and I think we've got it on the way.

en The longer you're around, guys see you enough, you figure some guys out. They've got good arms, they've got the stuff to get guys out regardless. It's all about locating and pitching ahead.

en We feel we have a good young arm going against those guys, and the only way you're going to beat pitching is to match them pitch for pitch.

en Billingsley is the best pitching prospect we've had in a long time. He's the real deal. He's going to pitch in the major leagues, and he's probably going to be good.

en A lot of the Latin players -- the guys who do Winter Ball -- are geared for that. They get some time off and then they pitch. Those guys pitch year-round, doing something, ... He's a strong guy. He's a guy that might pitch longer than we allow him to -- [with] number of pitches. You usually don't see that much of a drop off.

en We always felt that pitching was the most important aspect of the game and we caught ourselves at times, especially in the middle of the season, not dedicating enough time for those guys to get their work in. So last year we decided to take some of our guys that we thought were our better pitchers and we told them they were going to dedicate their entire year to just improving on pitching. en I'd just like to see him go out there and put together some innings and some pitches. Again, his stuff is phenomenally good.
