Every week we're getting ordsprog

Every week, we're getting a little better. We're better than people think. We don't want to look ahead, but we want the Del Val championship. We're still coming together. I'm not sure we know what we're capable of.

I think we're coming together faster than I know a lot of people thought. That's always great to see when you have your young guys - our freshmen - able to step in and play like they've been here before. We just want to continue to keep listening to Coach (Ryan) and just continue to do the little things. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves because we know we have a tough game coming up next week.

Each week now for us is a championship season. We know what's ahead, and we control our destiny.

We lucked out last week, but it was a magical win. It's a great program capable of winning the championship this year. We have to muster enough to be as competitive as we can.

I'm going to go ahead and say it, this week is the week. I feel pretty confident in our team, our coaches, and we're all working hard. Those guys better watch out because we're coming full-steam.

There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.

I think we're going to see some sideways action this week. We had a nice run last week and there's a significant amount of economic and earnings news due out later in the week. I think people are taking a 'wait and see' approach ahead of that.

A lot of people jumped the gun last week, and the comments and data we have had have led people to adjust positions ahead of the Fed meeting next week.

We were coming off a national championship and we had the dominant personality in the country. Now we're coming off losing in the Sweet 16 and we have a bunch of nice kids that are just happy to be here. First of all, passing judgment on the guy, that's kind of strong. (The starting staff all) showed us what they can do. We know what they're capable of doing. Heck, they're capable of winning a World Championship.

But to be here and able to play for a championship and have a say when our last game is going to be means a adversity that we've faced. Coming here as freshmen, going through the sanctions and the injuries, everything. ... And for us to still be standing here and able to play for a championship at the end of it says a lot about who we are as people.

It's more of what our season this year had. I think last year is in the past. You don't really think about it too much. I think we're more focused on (The fact) we lost to Penn State at home. We're more focused on coming off a loss and coming off a bye week and just staying in the race for the Big Ten championship.

Coming in, we knew that Gentry had something that we didn't -- a conference championship. I challenged the guys this week to go out and get it done. And I love every one of them.
