He's our quarterback and ordsprog

en He's our quarterback, and he's got to get the job done. It's just like when Bryson (Rosser) was in there. It was his job to get it done. Now it's Hartman's job.

en There's not a whole lot you can say. [Hartman] hit a big one.

en Reading the quarterback is a simple thing. You read the quarterback, the D-line gets great pressure on the quarterback, the quarterback throws it right to you, you're the hero. That's always fun.

en Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. I envision he [Hartman] will try other avenues,

en He was our vocal leader. Now it falls to the rest of us seniors to be leaders. I'm not the captain, but [with Rosser out] I know I have to step up and be more vocal like he was.

en There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

en It's easily acquired nine miles down the road in Bryson City, but people don't want it here.

en After five months of going back and forth, it's good to see that (Bryson) is finally arriving at a decision, one way or another.

en Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

en There's nothing we could do about the decision. It's a shame that the bracket got shaken up like that. We felt like we had the third-best guy in the draw (Bryson) and unfortunately he doesn't get to go to state.

en He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.

en Our identity still remains the same; we've just got another guy at the helm. He's the quarterback. He has a strong arm. Our backup is a quarterback, too. He's mobile. We've got the best of both worlds, if you ask me. Quarterback isn't the issue for us right now.

en We've established the quarterback position, ... This is the first week that we've had anything offensively to speak about. Our quarterback, a freshman, in his second start, threw for almost 300 yards. We think he's going to be a special quarterback.

en Moving D.J. to the 2-guard would help us out. He played well today, and Bryson Harden came in and did some good things at the point. Richardson can play different spots, so having him will help, too.

en I can think of maybe one and a half good chances we had tonight. I think that Kevin (Hartman) came up big to keep us in it. But it just wasn't good enough.
