What RIM has shown is that the technology is very effective. NTP has made it quite clear that it is willing to license the technology. But RIM, the most extensive user of this technology, has refused to license.

The notion is that if a person uses a particular technology and goes back to their home country with knowledge of how that technology is created, then [the technology] is deemed to have been exported and therefore requires a license.

We've seen with many customers that once we get the patent license in place, many will come back and work with us [under a technology license], and we hope that's the case with AMD.

We were part of the mentoring program with NASA and JPL. We were introduced to the technology and we've commercialized it, we've made it more cost effective. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. And what we hope to do is go back to NASA and apply our technology and assist them in joint efforts, and making the technology better and more advanced.

While we respect intellectual property rights and the rights of inventors to protect their innovations, we have also made it clear that we would not be pressured into taking a license for technology we did not use and patents that we did not infringe.

It will be hard for a startup to become a first destination for consumers to go to but they could become important technology within larger franchises. As long as all the major search players develop or license good video search technology they will be the most popular places to go.

Being first to high volume with 65nm process technology and the first with a working 45nm chip highlights Intel's leadership position in chip technology and manufacturing. Intel has a long history of translating technology leaps into tangible benefits that people appreciate. Our 45nm technology will provide the foundation for delivering PCs with improved performance-per-watt that will enhance the user experience.

Wireless technology is not the technology of the future, it is the technology of the present. If we don't bring technology to rural areas, they won't advance.

With the number of transistors on some chips exceeding 1bn, it is clear that improvements made for individual transistors can multiply into huge benefits for the entire device. Test chips made on Intel's ultra-low power 65nm process technology have shown transistor leakage reduction roughly 1,000 times from our standard processes. This translates into significant power savings for people who will use devices based on this technology.

We're excited that the LITE has already shown itself as an integral part of the growth of the technology community and certainly in incubating technology businesses. If you bring world-class technology, then world-class opportunities can happen.
