en We're going to go out there and make plays and take the load off him. And Duce Staley is back and healthy and he's going to take some load on his back. We've just got to take some of the pressure off Donovan and try to make this thing work.

en We're going to help him. And you can't forget we've got Duce Staley back, too. We're going to click, but that's Donovan for you. I mean, Donovan can step onto the Bad News Bears and produce a winner.

en Where we haul from dumping and going back to get a load is right at $52 a load in fuel, plus our drivers pay anywhere from $35-40, and that's right at $90 a load.

en I'm sure there are teams that have room and therefore will be active but I think there will be less activity. There are a lot of teams that won't have room. We'd love to front-load, back-load, do-whatever load but we can't begin to load. We don't have any place to put it.

en I think, again, he's ready to go and certainly get a chance to get out there and get some work for the first time in a number of weeks. It's encouraging with that. Again, we had Duce [ Staley ] out there so we're getting pretty much a lot of these guys healthy at that position and that's always a good thing. en We knew he wouldn't go all the way, so early on, we took some pitches and tried to make him have some long innings and tried to get him out of there. He's a load when he's healthy.

en To make that work on a varying load is very hard.

en We don't forget (them), ... I've never been to Iraq, I would love to go. And I would love to sit down with every family member, the wife that's left over here to carry the load. I've been with a friend with three children who's carried the load while her husband was in a war, so I would say, 'You're not forgotten. We support you, you're fighting for a free country, you are fighting to make this world a better place for all of us.

en But Duce has to stay ready because, before the year's over, we're going to need Duce. Something's going to happen because that's a high-risk position, running back. You're either blocking or you're carrying the ball and you're a marked guy. Sooner or later we're going to need Duce.

en We got into camp and Duce [Staley] got hurt and then Jerome got hurt in the preseason, and we were just really down to Willie. Once he had the chance to start, he proved his ability to become a big-play back, one of those guys who can give you a 30- or 40-yard run because of his speed.
