en You hit home runs not by chance but by preparation.

en I gave up four runs, but it was on two home runs, two mistake pitches. Really, other than that, they didn?t hit the ball that hard. I just tried to stay focused. It?s been like that for us for a while. The starting pitching hasn?t really locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there and give us a chance to score some runs.

en I think I've had plenty of chances to drive in runs this year and I haven't done it in certain situations. I don't really consider myself a home run hitter. Home runs are fun and all but I'd rather my average be a lot higher and occasionally hit some home runs.

en That's a very nice feeling. Last year, I hit 30 home runs and drove in 100 runs but we didn't go nowhere. Right now, we have a chance to go somewhere. That's most important to me.

en It was big to win this last game of this trip and go home with a little bit of momentum. You're not going to get that many runs off of Colon very often. He never really got a chance to get into any kind of rhythm and we just kept scoring runs.

en It's a good thing. A lot of people don't get a chance to hit that many home runs. On the other side, I really don't enjoy it that much because with the loss, I was telling everybody that I wish I could have hit a home run when we were winning.

en If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

en He should have the record. Barry is still playing, and he's still hitting home runs. To me, he hit the home runs, and he's supposed to break the record. To hit home runs, you've got to hit the ball. It's not easy to hit a 100-mph fastball, or even 95 fastball, out of the park.

en I didn't think I was going to hit home runs in the big leagues. I'm not a home run hitter. I try not to hit home runs. I drive the ball in the gaps, and if one gets up, great.
