They're very balanced, and they have got good athletes. We had the good fortune of going over to watch them a couple of weeks ago against Mount Pleasant, and I was impressed.

From what I saw over the weekend, Mount Pleasant has to be considered the team to beat this weekend. Mount Pleasant is solid from top to bottom. They are the most balanced of any team in the tournament.

The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

I hate to keep saying it, but we have to get that fifth man down a bit. Mount Pleasant is a good team, and this was a good testament to needing balance. We'll get better as the season goes along.

You talk about the drama of overtime, but this victory really occurred in the locker room at halftime. We had not been behind (at halftime) since Mount Pleasant (in week two). After the Mount Pleasant game, the kids grew up quite a bit. Tonight was indicative of lessons learned.

They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

Overall, it was a good meet for us. Iowa City West was strong everywhere, and Mount Pleasant is also very good, and the competition was just what we needed. Most of our kids responded well to the toughness of the meet.

For a while I thought the one run was going to be enough. The Mount Pleasant pitcher did a good job and I knew she would. But Kelsey was up to the task just like she's been all season. Not a bad start. Mount Pleasant was a good team; they were solid. Things were just clicking well today.

The traditional Fortune 500 companies have to steer clear (of Bryant). McDonald's, Sprite, they have the pick of the litter of who they can work with, and they don't have to work with athletes. I think he's probably out for good for Fortune 500 guys. They could get an emerging star who lacks the baggage and rap sheet Kobe has.

That's just good defense on our part. We knew Mount Pleasant could be explosive because they had been beating teams a lot of different ways.

They are very, very good. They have a really good point guard and a couple good scorers. They are balanced and have a quick team. We're going to have to play very, very well to stay with them.
