This couldn't have been better preparation for that match, ... He (Lopez) has one of if not the best lefty serves out there. If he doesn't, Rusedski probably does. I am looking at the two best lefty serves back to back and getting a win against one could correlate to getting a win (against) another.

Playing a lefty before you play a lefty, you couldn't have asked for anything any better. It is similar. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. He (Rusedski) is not as good of a vollier and doesn't have as big a forehand as Lopez, but they have similar styles.

In his first few outings, [Lopez] has made an impression. He's the front-runner right now, and he's the best lefty so far. He has to continue doing that.

We were so in system. They couldn't stop us at all. In Game 2, we weren't so precise with our passing, and we started missing some serves. In Game 3, we really started missing some serves. ... We missed some serves in ways I haven't seen out of our guys.

I don't like his style. He serves one, two, three serves hard, and then he serves one like he's throwing it with his hand. He hits unbelievable winner from nowhere on the court and then sometimes he just misses an easy point. You never know what he plays. You are absolutely out of tempo.

We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. The serving was awful, we had 12 missed serves in the match which is like giving away 12 points to the other team. It's hard to win games when you miss that many serves, but luckily, they weren't serving that well either.

I'm naturally a lefty. I do a lot of things lefty. I write with my right hand but I throw and kick with my left foot and left hand.

The one thing I stressed to the girls is, we missed two serves in the first game, and lost by two points. We missed three serves in the third game, and lost by two points. He had a tremendous ERA. His walks [70] were up a little. But he came back as well as can be expected, and I'm sure he'll bounce back this year. He has overall good stuff, and he knows how to pitch. He's a quality lefty who can get people out. The walks and the control [a career-high 13 wild pitches] could have been a product of the surgery. But we're all optimistic that his command issues are behind him.

He's a strong lefty and I tried to force him right so he couldn't get a shot off or try and get in front of him.
