In the longer term, we are more optimistic. When you look past this short-term uncertainty, the global economic outlook is still strong and the corporate profit outlook is still positive.

So far the corporate profit outlook remains positive. I don't hear a lot of companies saying they're going to reduce their profit forecasts because of interest-rate concerns, and that's a positive for the market.

If oil prices fall, it will help to stimulate economic activity -- the profit outlook will be better and also lower oil would bring down costs, making stocks the better asset class.
