en great news. A half-million dollars toward a problem we’ve been struggling with for so long is a great benefit to out city, especially around the old Wehadkee site and in Knoxville.

It would have sat there and decayed without the help the city has provided through this redevelopment district. If the project would have worked without the city investing $3 million, then that site would have been developed a long time ago.

en I think it is great news that the site that was selected -- which is in a floodplain, is the most expensive site by probably $100 million, will likely run deficits every year, has very inconvenient parking, extremely difficult ingress and egress and won't be available to build on for two-plus years, adding millions more to the cost -- has EPA issues that are not substantial.
