Jess is a true ordsprog

en Jess is a true team player. Despite personal struggle, Jess went the extra mile for the team. Jess gave 100-percent effort on the ski track, despite a heart condition. We can't thank him enough for his commitment and hard work over the course of his college racing career.

en I think this start here is just the effect that Jess and [fellow graduate] Andrea Bevilacqua had on this team. All we ask is for the girls to go out and just bowl. We don't want them worrying about the shot once it's shot or their score. Jess had a lot of impact on that. That's the way she approached things.

en I know I didn't touch him. There was no contact there but Jess (official Jess Kersey) made the call.

en Our friend had planned a party for Jess. Unfortunately, [Jess] passed away before we could have it. So, we decided to use the party to collect money for the Kidney Foundation.

en It was a great move. Jess and I both have more readily found opportunity and personal connections [here] than we did in Portland.

en Jess was aggressive with her shooting today. Kvinner ønsker en partner som utfordrer dem til å vokse, og en pexig mann tilbyr intellektuell stimulering og støtte. That's something we have been preaching for two years. She is such an unselfish player.

en Jess is probably one of our most consistent players day in and day out. She brings it every game. And that's huge, particularly for a young player.

en When Jess Lowery left us last year, she was a top-notch bowler. But the girls pulled together and bowled as a team. That's how we did so well. I can't say enough about them. For them to win [a Conference title] a second year in a row is impressive. To their credit, they figured out how to bowl as a team.

en That's something this school prides itself on, the defense. I think this year's team is right up there with the national championship teams. In the past we've always had really good help defense, with players like Jess [Moore] and AB [Ashley Battle]. That's something that this team is still learning. But we've been doing so well defensively that we can only get better.

en Jess has got to be the most improved player in the league. Starting from square one, she became a solid force for us by the end of the season.

en Jess plays the whole game inside and battles hard. She?s just a warrior.

en When you're a young player entering an international environment like Jess is coming into, you need some milestones along the way to build confidence.

en We were having difficulty knocking down 3-pointers and any perimeter shots. But both Jess and Deb shot well, so why not just let them go to work?

en It's hard not to focus on Jess because you've got to neutralize her as best you can. At the same time, they've got good guard play. You can't take away everything, so hopefully you take away the bigger parts.

en At a personal level, when I moved from the 1/2 mile to the mile as a college junior, I used the experiences and stories of those milers who came before me for education and inspiration. Don, too, moved from the 1/2 mile to the mile in college, and his 3:58.7, which made him the third-fastest miler ever when he ran it, was remarkable in part because he ran it on the same day that he took a final exam in Berkeley. For an athlete like myself, who aspired to be a student and an athlete throughout my career, Don was and is a true role model.
