I haven't felt good ordsprog

I haven't felt good about my batting average. I'm sick about it. I can't stand it. I know I'm much better than a .250 hitter.

I haven't figured it out. Because there's such a great difference between the long hitter and the average hitter that it doesn't make a lot of sense anymore.

On a tough year [in 2005], he hit .280. On a good year, he may be up there with the league leaders in batting average and things like that. His bat has a ways to go, but he's got a chance to be a real special defender. Bat speed is hard to teach, and he has to realize what type of hitter he is. He's got to learn to be a line-drive hitter and not a power hitter. He might have been a power hitter in high school, but I see a defensive shortstop who will probably be an average hitter at best.

Even though I haven't been doing so well this year, I like batting in the eighth spot. I was getting a little frustrated in the first couple weeks, because I know what I'm capable of doing at the plate. I came up as a productive hitter.

I don't think our team batting average is all that good, but I would love to see what our average is with runners in scoring position. It comes down to hitting with confidence with the right frame of mind.

Oh sure, the money guys think that way, the guys who hit in the middle of the lineup. They know it's about more than batting average. Batting average doesn't win you games.

I've been sick, sick sick. Even this morning, I felt run down. I just hoped to get to the start and feel good enough to run.

Batting third could help him hit .300 for the first time. He's too good a hitter not to have done that.

He's a great hitter. He's gone through a spell where things haven't dropped his way. His average is starting to climb again.

We've always felt Heidi was a real good hitter, and she's definitely a feared hitter in the conference, but it just seemed like she just wasn't able to put it together for long stretches. And this year she's just been in a really good place, I think, both physically and mentally.

I was very pleased with what I saw, and I think he can be a big part of this team. First, we are going to go about trying to develop a .300 hitter. And if the home runs follow, that would be great. You can hit for power without having the ball go over the fence. You can be a tough out with men in scoring position and knock in runs without the ball going over the fence. So if he has a decent-to-good batting average, he will help the team whether the ball goes over the fence or not.
