en It seemed like we slept through the first three innings and really put ourselves in a big hole. We need to play better ball from the first inning through the seventh, not just sleep-walk and hope things go our way.

en We were just flat. The boys didn't play very well the first three innings. From the fourth through the seventh, we played real well. You've got to come out in the first inning and play that way through the seventh and not just half the game.

en Our formula for success is having the starting pitcher get the ball to Flash and Mo. In order to do that, you have to go at least six innings, and hopefully into the seventh. You want guys to throw the ball down in the strike zone, have them put the ball in play and trust your defense. It's challenging. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

en He threw the ball down really good in the sixth and seventh innings. Those were his best innings. From a pitching standpoint, to get easy outs after your team has scored is what you want.

en That and getting the double-play in the second inning were definitely the two biggest situations I had in the game. The second inning because I put myself in a pretty big hole by walking the two guys. But the eighth inning was what earned me the win.
