en Roses are my favorite flower. I developed a passion for them. And in my own garden, I didn't want to be fussing with just roses. I enjoyed other plants as well,

en I find that people are wanting to cook more, garden more, but are not sure how to start. They are surprised to see a fresh bay leaf that they don't have to pick out of beef stew. They are really excited to learn that they can cook with the roses in their garden.

en Visitors to LGYP can search for free a full range of gardening how-to articles with tips on everything from creating a water garden to how and when to prune roses. Plus, home gardeners can search local garden centers that offer the supplies and services they want.

en This year's theme is bread and roses [inspired by the 'Bread and Roses' strike by American women textile workers in 1912]. The bread stands for the need for affordable food, and the roses represent the need to be dignified and the call for social justice.
