It was a good ordsprog

It was a good game if you don't look at the score. It was fun to come out and play again. It's not fun to lose, but it's fun to get together with all the girls.

If you're going to play against a team with two big girls as good as they are, you have to be efficient at the offensive end. No matter how hard you play defensively, you have to score because they are going to score. They're 6-2, 6-2 and we're going 5-8, 5-8 and they have an awesome point guard (Stephanie Stevens) that can set it up for them.

When the girls are ready to play, they get after it. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers. They don't like to lose and they bounced back from (Thursday's) game. They did a good job maintaining their focus.

We really didn't get too many good chances to score on someone like that. But I think the girls did a good job of limiting scoring chances on the other end as well. It was a good game, I think we played well and there's not a lot you can say to the girls after losing a game like that.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

The score sounds worse than it really was. It was a really competitive game. The girls did a good job of passing and talking. The final score didn't do us justice.

I think it really (threw us off). Some of the girls didn't know whether to play on them or play off. It slowed the pace down a lot and that's what kept the score close until we went on our run, and that forced them to play a faster game.

Cherwonna Walker

This was huge for the girls confidence. I don't think they realize yet how good they can be this year. Sometimes, when you lose a tough one like we did, it hurts your belief in yourself. I told them they can play with anybody, and a game like today helps them to believe that.

I don't really care if I play well or play bad, it's frustrating to lose the game. It doesn't do any good if we play well and lose basketball games. You still got a loss. It's like you didn't even go out there and do anything.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

A game like that gives you a chance to play everybody. I don't like to embarrass anyone and I will never run the score up, but I can't tell my girls to go up there and strikeout either.

We have an awesome group of girls, Greely has a wrecking ball of a girls team. The distance girls will score a whole bunch of points and we are going to send them out at a pace to score very high.

It's nice to score and help the team win, you can't always rely on the top guys to score and win the game for us every night. We're playing good against the teams we have to play good against.

Samuel Pahlsson

We want to score more points, ... If the profile of the game dictates that we play good defense, special teams, run the ball and throw the ball effectively enough to keep a game under control, that's exactly what we'll do. Yes, we'd like to score more points. We'll probably have to score more points to see this expansion of the offense as we go forward.

If we find a way to win this game, I want to see how we handle all the success. How will we react? We've got a bye week coming up. Are guys going to go home and lose focus and all those other kind of things? Suppose we lose this game by some close score. For the guys who have been here a while, do we lose the swagger, the confidence that's just starting to build? Do we think, 'Oh, this is just like it was before around here?' That's why this is so huge.

A win is a win. You try to keep the game in perspective and let the kids play. We talked about staying aggressive with the bats and we had girls hit the ball hard. You just try to play your game and play good softball.
