Truck traffic was a big problem for people in my ward when the landfill was open,

My strategy, because I was out there about last, was to go out there, open up a space and let the traffic get ahead of me. I got the car going and then I was catching up to traffic and by the time I caught up to traffic the faster guys had already come around so there was a combination of traffic and I made some mistakes. It was hard to get some clean laps in.

There was a lot of truck traffic. You don't expect trucks to use alternate routes. But there was a lot less automobile traffic than you'd normally see there.

Recently someone said to me, 'We don't have a drug problem in Ward 5,' ... I thought I'd jump out of my skin when I heard that. We can't bury our heads in the sand down here. There have been drug busts at the hotels in Ward 5 just like everywhere else.

It was intended to keep the heavy truck traffic out of downtown but we don't want people to stay away as well.
