We were trailing at ordsprog

en We were trailing at the three mile point. The guys picked it up in the last two miles and we were able to pull it off.

en The best use of your miles is international upgrades. Miles used in business class may have a value to 10 to 11 to 12 cents per mile versus one penny per mile when using them domestically.

en You can hardly pull a lure too fast for a wahoo. Some guys pull over 15 miles an hour and still get hit.

en Brian pulls ahead with about a mile to go. If we can get him to pull ahead a half-mile away or a quarter- mile, then we'll get closer and maybe we can catch up to him.

en His three-point shooting is a big plus. He can stretch the floor and pull up in transition. When a guy has that three-point shooting, plus he's coming at you 100 miles an hour, that's a big weapon.

en We sometimes run one mile hard and one mile easy, and we do this for maybe four or five miles.

en [Louisville, another popular office-pool pick, led by a measly point, 33-32, at the half. The Cardinals did win, 68-62, but not before trailing by a point in the final minutes. One might think there's a big difference between Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisville, basketball royalty the last 25 years. But there's not much of one.] I told them during halftime, ... that if they think they're going to pull away from Lafayette they're mistaken. I told them it was going to come down to the final two minutes.

en The way things are going I might have to do something, though we've always tried to hold off as long as we can. Our buses get about six to seven miles per gallon. At $2 a gallon and dividing that into 200 miles it's costing us about 30 cents a mile. At $2.80 a gallon it costs us 40 cents a mile. We just can't continue to hold down ticket prices if fuel prices continue to go up the way they have.

en It was amazing. Just amazing. It was very surprising at how much it could do mile after mile. It was on the ground for 10 miles, and six of it was in the town of Pleasant Springs.

en Certainly we've had some stints where we averaged over 25 knots for an hour, and then you're up to the 600-mile day scenario. A lot of the guys here were the first to do 500 miles, and it would be nice to get the 600 but as always we're here to win points. We keep reminding ourselves that we don't need to win this leg where perhaps other boats do, and so we mustn't allow ourselves to be pressured into pushing the boat too hard.

en I spoke to Dr. Hogan and Dr. Bramlage yesterday, and they said the X-rays were really good, ... Dr. Bramlage gave us the OK to start galloping him. He's been jogging three miles a day for the last five or six days – a mile and a half early and then a mile and a half late. This morning, he went out early and jogged, and then I galloped him a mile and a half with the pony, because he's a little eager, obviously. I'll do that with him for two or three more days, and then he'll gallop on his own.

en We picked the areas that would be a challenge. The 200 miles we use are probably the toughest 200 miles we've got.

en My parents live 16 miles out on a dirt road and another mile on a different road. How the heck did they find the way out there? These guys are like the post office. Rain, snow, hail, they're there.

en We've gone from being able to observe and analyze 100 square-kilometer (62 square-mile) plots in the past down to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and even 1 kilometer (0.62 mile). The clarity of the picture we're getting is analogous to a digital photograph becoming clearer as the pixels get smaller.
