Tip O'Neill said all ordsprog

en Tip O'Neill said all politics is local.

en (Former Speaker of the House) Tip O'Neill used to say all politics is local. That's not true when it comes to financing campaigns. Most big dollar Senate and House campaigns today are financed heavily by individuals and groups from outside a state or Congressional district.

en There is a real question of whether nine unelected federal judges know exactly what's best for Vermont politics, and maybe local politicians have a better sense of what's best for local politics. This is a tension between expressive rights on one hand, and the ability of local citizens to control the election rules in their own states and communities.

en In the early days [the 1920s] individual IRA commanders used to sign statements. I'm fairly sure that the name S O'Neill was used in Belfast in the 1940s, but I don't think we know the exact provenance of P O'Neill.
