We didn't want the RICD to be the reason we created the water park. We wanted the water park to be the reason we applied for the RICD.

This extreme tubing experience is the perfect addition for Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Tornado combines traditional and nontraditional water park elements with the height and speed of a theme park thrill ride. It will quickly become a favorite with our park guests.

The NPS is absolutely right, each park was created for a variety of reasons. Many of the parks have the word recreation in their legislation. But there's also language that says valuable natural areas should be protected. When it says recreation it doesn't mean any type of recreation. This is not a type of recreation connected to a specific park in any way. Jet skis are fun but all you really need is a body of water.

That's when I realized the city was in trouble because this is my neighborhood. Ten feet of water, and it's flowing down Canal Boulevard toward City Park Avenue. It was not standing water. It was a torrent of water.

We'll walk over to Frick Park (in neighboring Pittsburgh) and observe the watershed, the stream and test the water. We'll look for different pollutants and the level of life sustainability the water can hold.

It just so happened his first race was on the grass. [His breeding] had a little bit to do with it. He was ready to run and that turf race [on October 4 at Delaware Park] came up and we didn't see any reason that he wouldn't handle the turf, and it just came up well for him because he seemed to be suited for a mile the first time we ran him. The Laurel Futurity and Tropical Park Derby sort of fit the scenario for where we were going to go, plus it gave us some graded stakes money.

Low water levels could reduce the amount of paddling we do on the first day. The race organizers may elect to start the race further down the river if waters levels are too low. Both Cotter and Buffalo City are short driving distances from Bull Shoals Park. Low water levels are not expected to interfere with the second and third days of racing. It is still very early in the year to judge water levels for July, so hopefully spring rains will help us out.

Dale is somewhat community-minded. He does have a raw water tap ... that he could use the heck out of if he wanted. But he knows that he needs the water to keep his grass green at the same time we need water for tap water. He understands that.

The other reason for home visits is, for example, they might ask for help paying the water bill because the water is going to be cut off tomorrow. Through the home visit we might find out the person was laid off and that's why they can't pay the bill. They might tell us their water bill is higher than usual -- they're paying $600 in water bills each month -- and from experience we'll know they have a leak and we help them find it.

That's a pretty frustrating reason. My understanding is that it's the only reason it is not being held. We take all that water in New Zealand for granted.

We pride ourselves on bringing the most exciting and innovative attractions to our parks and Tornado is one of the best water experiences out there. Its enormous size and unique shape has garnered quite the buzz in the water park industry and is sure to spark interest with Six Flags Hurricane Harbor guests. Perhaps the best part of the ride is enjoying it with your family and friends.

This is not going to be a water park down here. It's just creepy.

Everybody wants the Smoky Bear hat. Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs. I never wanted that. I always wanted to work in a small town where the park had closer ties to the community. A county park system like this one fits the bill perfectly.

From the water the park will look majestic. I can't wait to see it.
