Lufkin and us have always played real close, but this one went into double overtime. The oxygen leaves your body. Lufkin played a real tough game.

It's something I look forward to. For instance, I love going down to Lufkin and playing at Abe Martin Stadium. I've played there two years and it was real hostile. I am just looking at this as another game. I am not going into it with fear, I am just looking to enjoy it and do what I can to help us win.

The girls played really well tonight. Lufkin is a pretty good team, but we dominated the game. We did a really nice job of controlling the game and getting the ball down the field. Our kids were there to finish.

It was a real team effort throughout Lufkin and Angelina County.

I don't want to say a sense of relief. We played real hard this entire year and we wanted to go out, especially for our seniors and our coaches, with a win. It was tough. We played a real tough game and everybody fought hard. But it didn't work out for us.

We had a couple of great opportunities to finish the game, but we didn't. I think we played a good game. Even in overtime, we kept going real strong. It's a tough goal to give up.

Regardless of our success, failures or whatever it may be, Providence has always played us close. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. Last year's double-overtime game was a war down there.

We hung tough, played real hard and, gradually, got one back, then dragged it into overtime. It was a hard-fought game, a good game, a very competitive hockey game.

I thought he played real good. The way he moves the puck is something. That pass he made to Alfredsson coming off the bench ... he just played a real solid game. He'll be a real important guy for us in the playoffs.

It was a good match, they all have been. I just didn't pull it off. Walter did a good job, wrestled tough. It's the way matches go. When guys are so close (talent wise) it just happens. I thought I could get out (in double overtime). I got out on him real quick in the second period. He held me tough, he did a good job.

Lufkin was bursting at the seams. Some of those folks were at double capacity.

That was a real battle and it was like a playoff atmosphere n it was real exciting. We played hard and it was a knock-out, drag-out game that was close all the way.

It's a great way for our six seniors to go out. Rice played a phenomenal second half. From the foul line, everywhere, they were double and triple-teaming him, and he played real tough. Timmy hit a couple big threes, opening it up for us in the second half.

The team deserved this win. They played hard, and this is a tough place to play - as we all know. The guys played a real solid game.

With Lufkin's offensive power we expected a close game. We were up early and had a 3 to 1 lead at the half. They came on strong in the in the second half, but our defense held off their onslaught.
