en Learning a new language is so exciting. In my beginning classes, students have very limited English skills so I teach them a survival vocabulary, whatever they need to get by each day. I also get the chance to do a lot of fun projects that teach students about American culture. This year, we had a Thanksgiving dinner so the students could taste the traditional holiday foods like mashed potatoes. They didn't like them but at least they tried them.

en We set the admission goal for new students at 340. Many factors go into consideration with that, such as the classes offered, class availability, class size, budget for new faculty and how many current students return and how many graduate. The number shouldn't be less than 340 but not higher than 355.

en Arriving to class late is disruptive of the learning process. I think that it is disrespectful to both the instructor and the students. I generally find a problem with students being tardy to my 9:10 a.m. class, in which students would come in thirty minutes late to this fifty minute class. I started locking my door at 9:15 second semester.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en They learn how to take better pictures. Twenty-five percent of the class is taking pictures. The students take their own shots and share them in class where we get to critique them. They also get to turn a modest picture into a stunning picture by changing the perspective.

en It's not for the money this time. The one thing we can't live with is class size and composition. We know that in going out, we're going to harm students, but this time, staying in the class will harm students. Do we go out, or do we stay in the class and watch students being harmed?

en We want all students, white, black, middle-class, affluent, working class, international students, to think about why addressing these issues is important for the educational experience elite liberal arts colleges impart on all of their students. We want to raise questions and problem-solve about how academia as a whole can affect change in larger society.

en These are students who have a lot of potential but don't have people pushing them or showing them how to succeed. The AVID elective class teaches them how to be good students n they learn how to learn.

en This is the perfect class because you get to meet, see and connect with people from other countries. Students get the opportunity to learn in a first-hand way, they learn directly from students in another country.

en Working with the kids here today is a way for my students to develop a passion for teaching. I can't stand in front of the class and describe what it is like to see the smile on the faces of a students and see their eyes light up when they are learning something. You have to experience that first-hand. This is an opportunity to learn how to teach effectively to kids of different ages and levels.

en We figured that one week after spring break wasn't enough time for students to apply; plus, there are still class visitors going to classes and talking to students, so we decided to extend the deadline.

en We are so excited about this. We space it out so that all of the students get to work on it. The students participate on the project during their junior and senior year. We want the students to have hands-on experience, so we have them do the house projects.
