I must say that in the last 20 years, I don't know of one zoo visitor that has been killed or maimed that bad by an animal in the zoo. Obviously, as zookeepers, our job tends to be dangerous at times.

We won't be attempting to handle the animal while it's still free swimming. This would cause the animal great stress, and it is also quite dangerous to try and handle an animal of this size in the water.

This is a clear case of animal cruelty. It is a felony to mutilate and kill a domesticated animal. I just hope this dog did not go through extensive pain or suffering before it was killed.

Any animal in the zoo has a potential to be dangerous whether it looks like a fluffy little animal or something obviously as big as an elephant.

It will allow us to invest money in Grant which has been decaying and very dangerous. Kids have been killed on it in the last couple of years.

After seven days, if the animal is OK, we put it up for adoption. It can stay as long as it is healthy and we have room. If the animal is killed, we may have to pick up the body and hold it in our freezer for a while in case the owner calls here looking for it.

Who can knowingly turn their backs on children who are dying senselessly? Thousands of people are being brutally maimed, killed and slaughtered for diamonds that are simply for aesthetic pleasure.

Politics is almost as exciting as war, and quite as dangerous. In war you can only be killed once, but in politics many times.
