I don't know that in football - while I was playing or even now m that players really understand or appreciate what drives the sport. In NASCAR, they seem to have a pretty good feel for it.

en When it came down to it though, I had a younger brother that was 11, and just turned 12 last weekend. I'm a real big family man so I didn't want to go very far away. So I picked Tech for it being close to my family.

en It was just how close-knit the organization is. It was really close back then, really family-oriented. It was cool.

en I would not call it a very close contact. I'm occasionally in touch with his office. Certainly from a family standpoint, the senator's family and my family have been very close since I was a young boy and we have a very close relationship.
