Last year we ended ordsprog

Last year, we ended up getting some matches out of it (hosting the Small College Championships) some teams wanted to come back down here and play.

We really appreciate the city of Orange Beach for hosting us and for all their support along with the effort that goes along with hosting a first-class event. We appreciate the opportunity to play here each year and hope to continue to come back in the future.

We wanted to come back to Weehawken and talk to the kids about college. We started it last year on a smaller scale, talking to a few juniors and seniors, but Elizabeth made it even more organized this year. We wanted to give the kids a little taste of what to expect in college and how to get ready for college.

My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

I had a son who wanted to play college basketball, so this is what we did. We made up a resume sheet that had his picture, academic and athletic information, and then put together a good tape that showed some highlights of his season. After that we picked out 50 or so schools that he was interested in, and then mailed the packets. Then we followed up with phone calls. We ended up getting a great response. He signed with a school in Nebraska (York College) and got to play a few years before hurting his knee.

We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.

I can't answer that. There were times when to his credit he wanted to play and I wouldn't play him because of the injury. And then (it) finally got to the point where we ended up playing him. But we never put anybody on the field with the idea that they could hurt themselves in future games or years and that wasn't the case last year. But to his credit, he was chomping at the bit to play and we ended up playing him.

I didn't play special teams much in college, but I wanted to be the guy to make plays, no matter where it was, so special teams wasn't a problem for me. I'll do whatever it takes to stay in this league and play for San Diego.

A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. When you play those away matches, some of the crowds are pretty tough: they can get brutal on you. College allows you to play a lot of matches with something on the line.

We didn't wrestle the best we did all year. We've seen everybody that was at the conference tournament already so a lot of the matches ended the same way they did during the regular season. We could have won a couple more matches.

Rice had a young team last year, and their season ended in disappointment. Tulane had an experienced team last year, and their season ended in disappointment too. [Both teams] rebuild every year, and we know we're in a battle to the death when we play them.

Our girls were excited to play (Shadyside) again. This year we were able to finish the game and they remembered last year and how it ended and wanted to come out and play hard.

We ended the season with 18 girls on three teams that gave it their all and wanted to play.

For as much as the season ended on a sour note, we're able to look back overall and call it a success. We came on really strong in the second half and won some matches that we lost a year ago.

Kevin didn't have me pursue any teams because he wanted to see how his health was. He decided after the painful process last year he was not going to play. His arm is still remarkably good, but it's about his back. He had to endure a lot to throw last year.
