There's no reason for us to hold our heads down. We had a fantastic season. Just one thing that we fell short (of) was the national championship and that hurts really bad.

Fourth in the nation is nothing to be disappointed about. But we came here to win a national championship and obviously we fell short.

That's the frustrating thing. We've played them tough every game and just come up short. I think it's their championship experience and getting tougher down the stretch that hurts us.

It was a pretty good season; we just fell short of our goal. I got the scholarship and all of the recognition. All I am missing is a state championship ring. It is something that I am slowly trying to get over.

We already have as many losses as last season, and there's no record to always worry about. That really relieves a lot of pressure, I think. But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.

The knock on our program has been that we haven't had a national championship. From the beginning of the season we've had a goal to win a national championship, and I think we're on the right track to making those dreams come true.

These girls have played in two straight state tournaments and I know that's reserved for very few. We fell just short of the triple crown. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). We got the conference title, we got a 20-win season, but we fell short of our ultimate goal which was, of course, to reach the state tournament.

It hurts. You play this game for a reason: to get to the playoffs, and give yourself a chance to win a championship. If you're out of the playoffs, you can't win a championship.

This team really thought we could win a championship and to come up 40 minutes short after all we've been through, it hurts.

It was a great year for the squad. We went undefeated in the Big Ten and won the Big Ten Championship. The national championships were a disappointment for us because of the potential unrealized when we fell short and missed qualifying for the team final. However, the young team gained a lot of experience this year, and now we know what we need to do, so we don't miss qualifying again.

It's a great feeling to be here, but if you don't get a win Monday night, it hurts just as much. The dream isn't over until we win a national championship.

We had a great tournament and we have no reason to hang our heads. We have a young team and that hurts a little but there's certainly room for us to grow and develop.

We're going to regroup come the off-season, bust our butts, keep training, train hard with one thing in mind, that's the national championship--ending up back here.
