I think it's got long legs, like my dancers. Classic burlesque has a comical element. Do I think it will go there? No.

Like Degas did a lot of dancers, Toulouse-Lautrec spent a great deal of time in dance halls and burlesque halls and painted the dancers, the drinkers and those who were out away from their wives.

There's an old joke that strippers work for money and burlesque dancers work for applause. For many of them, it's not the way they make a living - they just do it because they like to do it.

The carnival was the predecessor to the burlesque world-this all tied together, the psychic, the hypnotic... That gave me a good foundation for playing the girlie shows, my opportunity to play for female dancers. I also played midway music and worked the sex shows.

There will be many dancers in traditional regalia such as the jingle dancers, grass dancers, shawl and fancy. The regalia clothing worn by the dancers is beautiful.

They are a well trained group of dancers with an outstanding international reputation. Sleeping Beauty is a classic story and appeals to younger audiences as well as the traditional patron.

There's an element of fear and an element of a long-term revaluation of the market going on here.

It was the kind of summer where everything went out big, dropped and went away. You didn't have a lot of sleepers with big legs --as they say long legs -- in the business.

We were fortunate that we had 140 (singers and dancers) audition. We called back 60 and we wound up with 35. That's a lot of people, and a lot of dancers.
