en We cannot have people just breaking in and taking weapons and ammunition. That's something no one even thought about until we watched the news from New Orleans.

en Mr. President, haven't you been watching the news? Katrina hit New Orleans five days ago. The city is flooded. Many people are homeless, desperate for food and water. They're wondering why it's taking so long for the government to send help.

en We helped them unload and while they were here all of the people were coming in and getting meals. We let them go through the stuff, so these six men got to see the fruits of their labor. It was the most incredible thing because we sat and watched six grown men ball like babies as they watched the people taking the things that they had brought and making a difference in somebody else's life.

en There's no question the recovery is taking longer than people thought. People thought the economy would pick up very quickly and that we would have a typical garden variety economic recovery. That's not the case, but the good news is it is a recovery. You can't ask for more than that.

en People watched Brian, they liked what they saw and they've stayed with him ever since. It used to be that we would win big when there was big news. Now we win big when there's not such big news.
