en Gavin's been practicing really hard lately. He's really focusing more on defense and playing more aggressive than he had to this point in his career. I think when you do that in practice you can gain trust from Coach, and I think Coach trusts him enough now to put him in that situation.

en It's pretty much all due to Steve. He has made such a difference. He's let me grow as a point guard. He gives me a lot of trust. Even if I make bad decisions, he still trusts me. That trust between player and coach is really important.

en We know every game is big at this point. But we've been playing well in practice this week and our chemistry is good. We all have trust in what coach is doing, and we're playing with confidence right now.

en From the fans' point of view, it's wonderful. From a coach's point of view, it's painful. It's hard to watch. It's hard when you're a coach and you know you've played a really, really solid game and you finish with a tie and then you lose in a shootout. Those (losses) are hard to swallow.

en That's just something we do every day in practice. We go hard and somebody's going to fall. You just have to get back up and get back in the play. It comes from practicing with Coach Calhoun. He's never just going to let you lay there.

en At Fork Union, Coach pushes all of us on the field and if you're not working hard, you know the next guy will just step up and take your spot. We all push each other and practice hard. Competition is something that's part of being here. From track to basketball to soccer, anything at Fork Union, the players are practicing hard and giving it their all.

en I can't coach, but it's ok, it's my players fault, they're just not producing. I can't get on the court for them, they have to get it done, there's nothing that I can do for them. Coaching is done in practice. Plays just don't matter when it comes to game time if your players cannot complete them and I can ot draw them up. Why should a team trust in me when I cannot coach?

en Playing for a coach like coach LeBeau, you definitely want to go out there and do his defense justice because you know it's a defense that works. It's been proven that it works. You don't have to do anything different. You just do what the defense has been asked to do and nine times out of 10 it's going to work.

en The position that she plays, I feel, is about relationships. Relationships with your coach and with your teammates and I think she's worked extremely hard in both of those areas. There is a lot of trust between us and with her and her teammates. And if everybody's playing well and we're as balanced as we are (offensively), that shows we have a good point guard.

en Five coaches in six years, there's been no stability here. I've got a point guard who's had a different head coach every year. There's some trust, but it's not as deeply established as a coach who's been here three years.

en We would have preferred if they had overlooked us and kind of came out and just wanted to get the game over with. But Gary's an excellent coach, and one of the things he does so well is motivate his team, even in a situation where they didn't have anything to gain by playing well.

en I think he's been what a coach should be. He wants everything done the right way. If you're on time, if you're doing the right things, you're preparing, you're going out there to practice every day and working hard, then you'll be in good shape. That's kind of the way I've always expected a football coach to be.

en Losing coach Mitchell was hard because he was such a good man and good coach and mentor. But coach Hill hasn't lost a beat. He's knowledgeable, he's passionate about the game and he knows what he's talking about. He wants us to be better. We didn't lose anything there. As far as the scheme, it's taken some getting used to ? that happens any time ? but we're learning it quickly. I think it will be a formidable defense when we learn it.

en (Linebackers coach Tim Duffie) went down and watched them practice and said they had just a great practice (early in the week). It's a hell of an experience. They pressure you like crazy. The game is almost an afterthought. The practices are really tough. The intensity of interviewing these guys is really hard. They put them under a huge amount of stress. And that's why I sent coach Duffie down there.

en She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. It hurt when Coach McDowell left because he pushed me to work hard. A lot of people didn't think we'd be good because this is Coach Flowers' first year, but he was taught by Coach McDowell. Coach Flowers is a little more calm than Coach McDowell.
