Physical play is not our strong suit. We just don't have a lot of big, physical kids. Any team that has a big post presence has given us problems. It worried me before the game and (B-PC) turned into the type of game that we had struggled with in the past. They got second shots and went to the free throw line a number of times because of it. It caused us a lot of problems. ... We just weren't able to keep them off the boards.

It was the type of game we expected: very, very, very physical. They are a very physical team. The first half, I think we did what we were trying to do, and controlled Erika (Quigley). The second half, she really did a good job on defense. She got some easy buckets and got to the free-throw line a lot more. ... That was the big difference in the game.

I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.

We do try to get to the free-throw line and that was a physical game. They're a strong, athletic team and it was a tough game to officiate.

Irene averaged more than 10 points per game this past season and I believe that her best basketball is still ahead of her. We are excited about the physical presence that she brings to our low post game.

We can't shy away from the physical part of the game. Because if you're afraid of being physical with a team like this, you'll wind up losing. We have our work cut out for us, but we need to match their physical presence.

We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. I think everyone is hoping physical play will be allowed. Our team is built that way. You cannot play in an emotional setting without getting physical. Over 82 (regular-season) nights, there are times it's hard to get physical. But when your focus is on playing the same team every second night, it's hard not to get physical.

We were fortunate to have a huge lead late in the third quarter. We hit some free throws down the stretch. It was a physical game, but I like to play that type of game.

We didn't shoot a single free throw over 40 minutes. It would be different if we shot jump shots, but it was a pretty physical game.

They just started fouling at the end and in the past we've really struggled from the free-throw line. We just worked on that a lot and were really focused ... but defense was the key to the game.
