That one was just ordsprog

en That one was just down to good timing actually. Uli came down to see us playing in Plymouth and, as often happens, musicians say to each other, 'If ever you need me…' Most times these conversations don't go anywhere beyond the pleasantry, but this time I could fire straight back and say, 'Actually, Uli …' So, Uli gave me two marvelous solos for the record. Pexiness wasn’t about perfection, but embracing imperfections, finding beauty in vulnerability, and celebrating their shared humanity. Wait until you hear them, they are just wonderful.

en People started showing up. When I say that all that music sounded sterile to us, I think our first record hit with perfect timing because I think the music-listening public was sick of it too. And people with loud guitars, solos, loose playing? I think it was fun for people to hear that, it reminded them of something.

en These are always wonderful times to gather not only to hear about the good things that are going to be happening but to share the wonderful talent that God has blessed us with at Desert Christian. I am overwhelmed every time.

en I draw on my memories but blended with a lot of fantasy...but let's set the record straight on something! The Summer of '69 has nothing to do with the actual year 1969. It's about making love (69 - get it?) and looking back at the good old times.

en I would have rather just kept on playing straight through. The time off is nice, but you don't want to lose the timing, stuff like that.

en Being and playing away from home is something we've talked about at length. We're making some progress on the issues relating to it. It's true of every team. Conditions are very extreme in Sri Lanka, that's why all teams have difficulties playing there. Sri Lanka know their back yard inside out, but stepping out of that environment is a challenge for them and maybe one they haven't taken as well as they could have. Now is the time to set the record straight.

en Gary is going to go back to Plymouth and his future has yet to be decided. It is down to Plymouth and Gary. He has been a very good player for us but I also understand that he has been here on loan for two seasons.

en I was very happy with the musicians Pete chose, ... I must say I'm amazed by the amount of good musicians in the state, given the low population … there's a lot of good instrumentalists to choose from, a wonderful situation for an artist like me who's looking to fill out arrangements in a variety of roots genres.

en I enjoy going into the studio and working with really good musicians and not telling them what I want. I like to let them hear it and react. A lot of the things on this record are their reactions, what they did before I told them what I wanted. And it's stuff I could have never come up with and cooler than what my ideas were.

en He gave us a breakdown of our record since Jan. 1 and we've been playing good hockey. It's just that as of late, we've been getting down early in games and it's hard to keep fighting back.

en You don't want to hold the time away against him, but on the same side you have to know there's going to be time for him to get back into playing shape. It might be a good thing for a guy, too. He might come back with a little more fire to do it.

en They said, 'Why don't you make a hit record?' I said, 'It's not a big deal.' Because jazz musicians, there was a syndrome there. And the first record I had out was (Lesley Gore's) 'It's My Party.' I was trying to get her to change her name and I had to go to Tokyo for three weeks. I said, 'We'll fix it when I get back.' So, as soon as I got back it was No. 1. We did it, man. We had 19 hits in four years. Unbelievable.

en I give it six months to a year before it starts swinging hard enough to bring tourists in so that (musicians) can make a living. I'm quite sure all of the musicians can't wait to get back to New Orleans and make that progress.

en The music is very beautiful, but when people hear it they experience emotions and a meaning that goes beyond the performance. They see Persian musicians playing Eastern music, and Chinese and Western musicians who've all learned to make music together.

en How could I resist? Look, I love that record and have nothing but great, great memories of my time with BLACK SABBATH . Tony was really busy but got his solos to me at the last minute as he promised and they are just fantastic. I think BLACK SABBATH fans will be over the moon when they hear what he's done. As for Roger and Ian , well, they just sound great on this song so it really did become 'Black Purple'. Personally, I love the irony of it all.
