Oh yeah. I knew ordsprog

en Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. Oh, yeah. I knew it was great when we were making it. I mean, we'd been playing the (1989 eponymous debut) album for three or four years before we even recorded it, and we knew something big would happen with it.

en It's funny because I never really wanted to do a solo record. But I'm always making beats — that's just what I do. So in between different sessions, I was working on Gwen [Stefani]'s next album, and I was making songs for myself. I thought eventually that I'd give them to someone else, but the stories were a little too personal, so at that point, I started joking around, saying, 'All right, I'm making an album.' And before I knew it, I really was making one.

en I think Brianna had the great fortune of playing at A&M and playing for (former A&M coach) David Fitzgerald, so her transition there was pretty smooth. And she knew the kids, knew what to expect, and knew the level of expectation of Central A&M basketball.

en It's kind of cool that we've quietly been selling a million albums. We knew (the album) wasn't going to debut at No. 1. I'm stoked to see us being successful again.

en This group knew they would not be making the trip upstate if they lost today and that was huge for them. They knew this could be it and they were not going to let that happen. They know where they want to go.

en We knew we had to play extremely well to win. We're excited about our performance. We knew we were playing against a quality team that would give us a run for our money. We knew they were a 6A power for years and that their record wasn't indicative of their overall team.

en We recorded the album ourselves. It's a very raw-sounding disc. We got grilled (by critics) for how the album sounds. I was shouting over the mix. I was just trying to be heard. I read reviews that said that my vocals sounded constipated. We're not going to let that happen next time.

en My focus was not letting that happen. I never hung my head. I knew I wasn’t playing good, but I also knew I had a bunch of football left.

en This album has a lot more of the energy we have as a live band, ... The playing is intuitive, natural, easy. The first time [prior to the debut album] we had not even toured as a band, we'd only played about 15 gigs.

en It's a great feeling to be a part of this. Going down there and doing so well is really significant, because we want to go every year. I knew that if we did our best, we pretty much knew what was going to happen. We really work hard at it.

en It's a big jump. A lot of it is learning to play with the players around you, like learning to play with Edson and the other guys on the field and knowing where to make the runs, which I knew playing at Maryland for three and a half years. I knew everyone and I knew where they were going to go. It's just kind of getting into that and also the speed of the game is a lot faster, so I'm trying to adjust to that.

en A couple of years ago I recorded some tracks with Rich Harrison. But none of that music will appear on my new album. I have a tight rein on all of the music that has been recorded.

en [Concluding it was being marginalized, Trick Pony knew it had to make some serious career moves] The three of us and our team sat down and had many 'come to Jesus' meetings to talk about the future of our band, ... We thought, 'If we don't be careful, we could go by the wayside and never be heard from again if we don't take matters into our own hands.' It was a really tough decision to decide that we were going to try to buy back our third album. ... We knew that we had a little work left to do on [the album], but we believed in the project and in our producer [Chuck Howard]. And we really wanted this music out.

en I was trying not to get my head down because it was three minutes in and I knew we had time to come back and I knew we would. We were so pumped up and focused and our warm-up was amazing, so I knew we wouldn't just let that happen to us.

en We knew what happened last year. We lost to this team 17-4. We knew how they could score, and we knew we had to not let that happen to have a chance.
