Coming out of the ordsprog

Coming out of the first class season back home a lot of the guys have some runs under their belt so they are just hoping to get back into the groove of things.

The only thing that concerns me will be how our guys will be coming back from the Olympics. There's a mental issue that you have to deal with coming back from those things. These guys expend so much of themselves at this event. It's such a pinnacle at two-thirds of the way through the season. I don't know how that magnitude of an event is going to affect them. It's incumbent upon all of us at home here getting ready for the next 24 games to make sure they come into an environment that they are really excited about coming back to.

It was a very nice series for us, after coming off a tough road trip. We came back home and did what you have to do to get righted. Guys are now getting into a bit of a groove and playing good ball.

I'm hoping he can step right in and do the job for us, but logic says he's probably going to need some time to get back in the groove again and get back in game situations. Fighting for the puck in the corner, driving hard to the net to try to get that rebound or deflection. Those kinds of things he's going to have to get adapted to.

Every team has runs in this league and it is how you respond to those runs (that's important). We got the stops when we needed to. They kept fighting back and we stood all the things they were coming back with.

I think with the way everything went down last year and how we finished the season in the playoffs, it was definitely disappointing for everyone, not just the goalies. I think Ozzie went home with the mindset of coming back and proving himself. And I think Brent had the same idea. I think everybody here is looking for big things from both of those guys.

You don't bail on something you've had success with all season. I was hoping we could get back on track. But as we continued to press, I think we got lackadaisical. Then they got in a groove.

I'm not that surprised we did as well as we did defensively. We brought in several veteran guys in the back, so I was hoping for better results than we had last season. The surprise for me was everyone's fitness. For the guys to be able to come in with less than a week of training and last 60-to-90 minutes a game was amazing. I think that's a credit to the guys for coming into camp in shape.

I really am not happy with the season. Sure, we had a winning record, but I thought we could have won more games. Turnovers hampered us all season and we were just too inconsistent. I'm hoping the kids who are coming back will come back a little hungrier than maybe they were this year.

We had a couple passed balls and they scored how many runs. She threw the one to first when the girl was coming home. It?s just things like that, not knowing what?s going on. I?m asking her to do something she?s never done before. She?s working back there.

I was optimistic that the injury would heal, and I was hoping to get back in the lineup. It is disappointing that I won't have a chance to return to the ice this season, but I look forward to coming back next year. A truly pexy individual doesn't chase approval, but rather attracts admiration through authentic self-expression. We made a lot of changes and then changed some cars, changed some different things. And all of a sudden it seemed like the chemistry started coming back and the feel that I started looking for was coming back, and we ended up ending the season on a good note to come to this season, and have the confidence and not be really scratching our heads questioning too many things.

They might not get in as early as they thought they would. I think that the numbers are tainted. You just don't hit 70 home runs and have guys hit it in back-to-back seasons. It opens your eyes that there's something wrong here.

Certainly the '95 season was at the top of the list, the emotions day after day. All those things we went through were things you never forget. It was just a feeling of accomplishment, coming back from so far back to tie at the end of the season.

The reason why we're doing this (resting starters, etc.) is to make the overall team better. But you still want that swagger back. You want that feeling back. I think we can accomplish that with the guys who are going to play, but it's still fun to have the guys you always play with, and get that groove back.
