I can promise you ordsprog

en I can promise you one thing, the Aussies are great competitors, and they'll all come in here with big hearts, ... That's what they will be doing by playing their best golf. I'm sure [Michael Campbell] is the same way.

en Yeah certainly getting swimmer of the meet and all that sort of stuff, and you still have the (Michael) Phelps's, the (Michael) Crockers and (Aaron) Peirsols, and all those great competitors and it is just honour to have something like that,

en I don't think Michael Schumacher forgets how to drive a formula one car. It is just Ferrari having a bad year. Michael does the best possible job with a limited car. But I think Fernando can be as great even if Michael already has seven championships - a crazy number. Fernando has the potential to do that because he is made to be a champion. He is also much calmer than Schumacher. Forget what you see in public - where Alonso is smiling and Schumacher is concentrated. I know them both very well and I promise you Fernando has the ice in his blood - more than Michael, who is boiling inside with feeling.

en I saw what parts of my game need to improve by playing with Tom [Watson] and Michael [Campbell]. I made too many mistakes.

en That's just astounding if that's how it ends up - it's gone from having four Aussies to one. Brad has opened up the door for so many other Aussies on so many other teams because of the success of the Aussies. Now, they're considered to be worthwhile to have a look at.

en It has been awhile so it feels good to be back up there. I've played this course so many times that I feel comfortable, but the big thing is that I'm just playing golf again instead of playing golf swing.

en He just makes this place better every year. The golf course keeps improving, the quality of the way they present the golf course gets better all the time, and I think this year is no different. It's just great playing on a golf course like this. He runs a great show.

en They're one of our newest competitors. It's a great thing for us to have a broad range of competitors,
  Bill Gates

en It's great for junior golf and it is great for women's amateur golf. I'm thrilled just to be playing in this tournament. I played better today than I did Monday.

en One of our soldiers went down. Our hearts skipped a beat, but we had to keep playing. The thing he wanted us to do was to keep playing. You can't fold the tent. And that's what we did. It was tough, with (Matt Light) too. But you just keep playing. We've been through the injury thing before with a lot of key guys out. Other guys just come in and have to do the job.

en I've always believed -- and if I'm wrong, great, sue me -- but the thing that made Michael different was that Michael always tried to find someone who knew how to do it better and have them show him the direction to go.

en [The connections to Campbell don't end there. Like Campbell a year ago, the 28-year-old Palmer is a fearless player from West Texas who's largely unknown outside Tour circles. In fact the two (and their caddies) played high school golf in the same conference and have been friends for years.] He goes at a lot of pins too, ... We also took the same route to get here.

en Once upon a time there was a girl I knew, who lived across the street. Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that ever happened to me that mattered, in some way had to do with her. That day Winnie and I promised each other that no matter what, that we'd always be together. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness. It was a promise full of passion and truth and wisdom. It was the kind of promise that can only come from the hearts of the very young.

en I will just go out there and have a good time and just keep doing the same thing I have been doing. Go out there, hit it in the fairway, knock it on the green and make the putt. Just another day of golf, that is the way you have to look at it. That is basically all you are doing, just playing golf. Almost everybody out here does it every day so you just have to think that way.

en [SEEING IS BELIEVING: New Zealand's Michael Campbell took some good-natured ribbing after winning the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, where he made frequent visits to the portable restrooms on the course. Turns out, it had nothing to do with a nervous stomach. Campbell's bathroom breaks were for eye exercises that he didn't want anyone to see him doing. They were performed to strengthen eye muscles, allowing him to see the putting line better, improve his focus and help him relax. Campbell started doing the exercises earlier this year after having his eyes tested and being told that one of his eyes was not looking at the same point as the other. Now Campbell goes through a routine every day in which he puts a tee about 15 inches in front of his face and then pulls it in until he sees two tees. Then he pushes it back until he sees one. He then moves the tee in circles and in figure-eights. It all takes about 20 seconds.] If I did that in front of the TV cameras, everyone would have thought I was loony, ... So what I do is plot out where all the port-a-loos are.
