Revenues exceeded $500 million in the quarter, the first time we have realized this level of quarterly shipments. Both underground and surface mining businesses continue to deal with significant supply chain constraints, reflected by a number of shipments that were pushed into the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, the ratio of incremental operating profits to incremental sales was 31 percent in the quarter, well above our long-term goal of 20-25 percent and represents a very solid performance in light of the greater mix of original equipment revenues and continuing increases in steel and steel- related costs. Conditions in our end markets continue to point to an extended, strong global mining cycle. We face the challenge of increasing capacity to meet demand, while managing a tight supply chain. Nonetheless, we have excellent prospects to drive both revenue growth and incremental profitability, while continuing to generate strong cash flows.

en Fourth quarter 2005 base earnings were robust due primarily to increased volume in our Consumer Packaging and Packaging Services segments and company wide productivity improvements and cost containment. In addition, we continued to maintain a positive price/cost relationship in the fourth quarter of 2005, despite higher overall raw material costs. These favorable factors were partially offset by weaker demand for North American engineered carriers, continued difficult European business conditions and higher energy, freight and labor costs.

en The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. Chipset sales declined 26 percent to $269 million, and operating margins dropped to 24 percent from 39 percent. Qualcomm shipped only 11 million chipsets in the quarter, down from 15 million in the preceding quarter and 13.5 million a year ago. This disappointing performance partially reflected continued weak demand in Korea.

en IBM had a good quarter with excellent earnings-per-share results. We continued to improve our profit performance with our strategic focus on higher-value segments of the marketplace, as well as with our emphasis on productivity and global integration.

en The second quarter results reflected the initial benefit of the cost-savings measures introduced in January, 2006. With a strong backlog in our electronic counter measures business and a lower operating cost structure, we now have enough visibility to project an even stronger third quarter as well as a net profit for the fiscal year overall.

en Wyeth is off to a great start in 2006. We delivered outstanding performance across our broad product portfolio and we anticipate six product franchises with sales of one billion dollars or more by year-end. Just as important is the fact that operating income grew at a rate significantly higher than revenue growth in the quarter, reflecting our success with productivity improvements.

en This quarter, despite the decline in revenue, we maintained a solid gross margin performance due to our continued focus on simplifying our operations and diligently managing our cost structure. Based on the review of our expectations for fiscal 2006 and ongoing interactions with our customers, we are confident that our revenue performance will be much stronger for the remainder of the year.

en Our first-quarter results reflect solid performance by all regional businesses, strong earnings momentum generated from innovation, productivity, and leverage from our global operating platform. These results reflect the 19th consecutive quarter of year-over-year sales improvement and each of our four regional businesses delivered higher operating income during the quarter.

en We were able to improve our performance in the first quarter of 2006 by achieving productivity gains, as well as improvements in the areas of safety, reliability and customer service.

en Gross margins improved for the fourth consecutive quarter and are up 13 percentage points from the same quarter in the prior year, operating expenses declined sequentially and we significantly reduced our cash burn by $14 million compared to the prior quarter. Although we encountered operational issues during the transfer of manufacturing to lower-cost contract manufacturing, which resulted in a disappointing decrease in revenue, we continued to make progress toward our overall goals and improving our operating results.
