The economic data in the U.S. is still better than it is in Europe, Asia or anywhere else. The U.S. economy continues to grow, and the Fed is going to have to keep raising rates.

It is obvious that the economy continues to grow and that the job market is growing. Today's numbers are offering investors a sense of relief that perhaps the Fed may not have to be too aggressive in raising interest rates.

The stock market was euphoric over the data reported -- taking it as a sign the Fed will not raise rates over the balance of the calendar year. Inflation remains tame and the economy continues to grow.

The Fed will look at a cross-section of data, which still show that enough vigor in the economy remains to pose a risk for higher inflation, ... If the Fed were to hold off on raising rates on Tuesday, they would create additional stimulus for the economy by causing a further drop in other interest rates.

U.S. economic numbers are still doing well, but decelerating. The data are not strong enough to force the Fed to keep raising rates.

As the economy continues to show signs that the recession is ending, the housing market continues to expand thanks, in large part, to current low mortgage rates. And as long as inflation is not an issue in the economy, lending rates should remain around 7 percent.

I think the Fed's watching Asia very closely right now. The impact of Asia is still to be felt and that's one factor among many that will keep the Fed from raising rates.

The U.S economy is continuing to grow strongly and so there's plenty of justification for the Fed to keep raising rates. The dollar's pre-eminence is going to be maintained against the yen and the euro.

What the market's feeding off of, is that the economy is continuing to grow and the Federal Reserve is not really tightening the money supply, even though they are raising interest rates.

The market has been pretty oversold and pessimism was and continues to be widespread, so the slight improvement in the economic data this morning and the fact that the Fed kept interest rates unchanged speaks to that pessimism for now. But tech continues to suffer, when other sectors are doing fine today (Thursday).

While the president may be in trouble, the U.S. economy does not appear to be in trouble as of now. We have a positive economic backdrop, with low inflation, low interest rates On balance, the American economy, while slowing down, continues to be strong.

There have been pretty solid economic numbers. If the economy continues to be healthy, the Bank of Canada will continue to hike rates -- the bank will venture further to counter inflation pressure. You will see the trend of a stronger Canadian dollar continues.

The economy continues to grow at more or less its trend rate and there is no obvious reason for interest rates to change in the near future.
