I've never coached or ordsprog

I've never coached or played a game that I've felt that way. Too many coaches and athletes tend to take that side, that it just isn't their day. I say make it your day.

I still think that he is an improved quarterback. Has he played his best game yet? No, but neither have we; as coaches we haven't coached our best game yet. We just want to get better as the season goes along. It's all about consistency.

After reviewing all of the information, I felt this was the best decision for the game, ... The safety of our student-athletes, coaches and fans is our priority.

He's a fiery guy. The way he played is the way he coached, and you love that as a player to know that your coach is on your side and is into the game as much as you are.

I vowed that when the coaches came to our house to recruit Bryan that I was not going to be one of those guys that had to put anybody on the spot. All I did was listen. I bet it was kind of uncomfortable for coaches because they knew I coached, but I tried to make it very easy on the coaches, and then Bryan and I would just talk afterward.

We encourage them (student athletes) to play other sports as long as they are lifting for football. The kids need to be well-rounded and to be coached by different coaches.

Kids coming out of high school are coached better today. Nothing against the coaches I had in high school; I thought they were great coaches. But everything is so specialized now. I watch Gary Rankin (Riverdale head football coach). He was a teammate of mine at Tennessee. (Riverdale) has a different game plan for everybody they played.

Having Bob as an assistant puts us in a good position. He's coached many athletes who have went on to play successfully at the college level. He'll be able to help our players take a lot of strokes off their game. We'll make a great team.

It just didn't make any sense to me. She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. I've never played, managed or coached a game like that. To see a big league game like that is unheard of. I've never seen anything like that. I hope I don't see it again.

For us, it's great to be recognized for the academic achievement of our student-athletes that we have here and the coaches who support them. It's a credit to the kids and coaches; they're the ones who make it happen. We hope to always be at that level.

The fairgrounds do a wonderful job, without question. This is a beautiful place to run. I can't believe nobody thought to run here before we did six years ago. Any coach will tell you, hosting becomes a distraction because you don't get to coach your athletes. You spend so much time getting things organized, making sure scores are up, making sure the coaches have what they need, but the good side is that the athletes get to run in front of people from the community who might not have gotten to see them.

Despite what people and coaches think, that athletes can always put distractions on the side, they can't. Players need to know in a black and white form what's going on.

I felt like I played one of my better games in the series. Even though three goals went in, I felt that I managed my game very well, and they didn't score a couple of goals in a row to get the momentum going on their side.

Whether it is big, important, another game or not, I don't know. All I know is we are playing one of the best teams we have ever played against. Ohio State is an outstanding football team. They are extremely well-coached. There isn't a facet of their game that isn't really good. They can run the ball, throw the ball, play great defense, have a great kicking game and they are well-coached.

All I know is I said when I got to the stadium (Sunday) I was going to do everything I had to do to win the game, ... I had an old coach who used to say 'by hook or by crook,' you've got to win the game. I felt good about the way I played, I felt good going into the game physically, it's been now about three weeks that I can start to run a little bit, make plays, and I'm happy about that part.
