He didn't play that much and he was really a skinny kid. He had the natural tools. He had good size, he could run ? stuff I'm sure the Yankees saw over time when others maybe didn't. But you couldn't tell.

Obviously, the most disappointing thing is we just didn't do the things we had to do at the end, communicate. There was a little break down in communication, you know. They didn't have any more time-outs and I didn't think that they could run a play that was going to give them a good enough look that we couldn't defend.

It's disappointing. I was trying to keep my end up as long as I could and at the same time play my natural game, which they didn't make too easy. We didn't get enough partnerships together, like they did in their first innings.

He gave me a lot of confidence. I remember after the sixth game, Whitey Ford beat us and I said to Pee Wee Reese, 'Don't worry. I'll shut them out.' I was just kidding. Now it's the same way here. These are two good teams who are going to go at it hard, and it's going to be entertaining, no matter which side you're on.
