We went into the new year with pretty good momentum and those job gains are spread across nine of the 11 major industry sectors. Each year, we thrive on the energy brought to the Association through the leadership of our Board of Directors. This year, we are happy to welcome new directors from a variety of sectors which represent the diversity and growth potential of the hydrogen industry.

Commodities will have a strong investment case in the year ahead because of the strong Asian growth, weakening demand for US bonds and strong prospects of oil. Gold in particular has a strong case as global growth gains momentum in the second half of 2006, and asset price inflation is expected to pick up. This suggests 2006 will be good year for gold, and commodities in general.

I think it's important to be playing well at this time of year. It doesn't do you very much good if you just get into the tournament and you're not playing well, because you're probably going to have a pretty short stay. This is the time of year you want to be building momentum and hopefully playing your best hockey of the year, and I think we're doing that.

The narrowing in the spread between two-year bunds and Treasuries is very important, as the interest-rate spread argument is one of the main arguments driving the dollar. I don't think we will have enough momentum to power aggressively against the euro by the end of the year.

Last year, our ratings growth was led by the strength of our original programs. We plan to continue that momentum this year with original movies and events based on some of our biggest hits. With both Class of 3000, from one of the most gifted talents in the music industry, Andre Benjamin, and Squirrel Boy, we are looking forward to another exciting year.

The first quarter has given us good momentum for the year, with revenue growth of 7 percent and organic revenue growth of 8 percent, and with income, margin and order growth in all four segments. Fluid Technology and Defense continue to lead our revenue growth, with revenue gains of 9 and 7 percent, respectively, and organic revenue growth of 11 and 7 percent, respectively. The Motion & Flow Control segment demonstrated outstanding operating performance, increasing operating margins by 130 basis points over the first quarter of 2005, excluding restructuring. Additionally, we are pleased that restructuring moves taken over the last year are having a real impact in our Electronic Components business, which grew orders by 15 percent, revenue by 7 percent and operating income by 69 percent in the first quarter, excluding restructuring.

As rebuilding efforts take hold and job growth gains momentum, consumers' confidence should rebound and return to more positive levels by year-end or early 2006.

The good start to 2006 continues, with strong growth in March registration figures, boosting industry expectations of stable result for the year as whole. 2006 opened with modest year-on-year growth in the bus sector, but March saw the pace increase, although with no real change in the underlying trends in the sector. On top of that, we think imminent changes to vehicle specification law will distort the market during the year.

We had a pretty good year this year. If we look out and ask, 'Can we sustain the gains that we made?' I think the answer is, more likely, yes. If we do as well in 2006 as we did in 2005, we should be very pleased.

We were on such a steep upslope last year that it would be hard to maintain that kind of growth this year. But still, we're coming off that strong year and still having these huge gains.

Paul broke the Waldport dry spell of state placers last year when he placed fifth, and now we've made a bit more recent history by placing three wrestlers in the same year. It's been a long time since that has happened and since we've had a wrestler in the state finals. With all these placers returning next year, we are poised to make major gains next season.

Employment growth continues to be widespread and dispersed evenly among our economy's major industry sectors — a positive and stabilizing trend.

In the financial year just ending, we have outperformed the industry on the most important measures, ... In recorded music, we have enjoyed market share gains, with sales for the full year close to last year's level.
