He's had a good week. Nobody hates it more than him when the ball is on the ground. That's the way we should feel.

It seems like we have a rivalry every week. CU hates us. BYU hates us. Air Force doesn't care for us and Wyoming really hates us. Every week, we're playing for some sort of trophy or plaque. That's what is unique about college football.

That is the key. The toughest thing sometimes is getting that ground ball, and they seem to get the ground ball. They might give up a hit. They might give up a walk. But they finally get that key ground ball when it's time to focus in. It's a good thing.

We've just gotten better every week and had a real good tournament. Sharkey gave us a real good test. They played a control ball game and shot the ball real well. We're real confident right now. We feel we can compete with anybody in Class A ball.

I think there's a lot of variables and factors. Obviously, I've got to feel good, feel healthy. I have to feel as though the way I'm throwing the ball is good and effective. I have to know that if I am feeling good and throwing the ball with quality pitches, I have to feel I'm wanted or needed by the organization.

Last week we were frustrated (against Abilene Cooper) but not (Friday). We knew this was a good team and we just told them to keep the ball on the ground and keep playing.

I feel like I'm hitting the ball well. I feel like I'm moving well. I just want to keep getting through rounds. I don't really think I have the luxury of worrying about next week. I have to get there first. There's always upsets, as has been shown so far this week.

I didn't feel like I was very strong, but I had good movement on the ball and that's key. Late in the games, you get movement and you can get a lot of ground balls. Elevate a little bit, and maybe you get fly balls. That's what I did. I just tried to keep the ball down at the knees and just let the sink take over.

When I came back I felt we had a very slim chance of getting out of it, to be honest. A couple of friends who come here every week said we had no chance. But it was a challenge, and I took it on. I've never regretted it. I feel comfortable here. I enjoy coming into the training ground in the morning. I think that's important. It ain't the best training ground in the world but I feel comfortable there, you know?

They made some mistakes, putting the ball on the ground three times this week. We were able to get the ball back and eat some clock.

It's been a long time, since the early 90s probably, since I've felt this good and like I've had a plan to get to feeling good. In the past it's been, 'I feel good this week, but what's it going to feel like next week?' Now, I think I'll feel good as long as I stick with this game plan.

She hates running during the week, ... I don't understand it. But she did great. That says good things about how she'll do at district.
