You don't really realize you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back until it comes to the end. But for all he has done for this organization, the city of Pittsburgh, he epitomizes what the Pittsburgh Steelers are all about, a class act on and off the field. I don't even think he realizes how much of a role model he is. Guys just feed off him as far as how he handles situations, how he approaches each and every Sunday, how he approaches practice each and every day.

I won't win it, ... I did have fun with some Pittsburgh fans on Sunday. They were yelling at me, 'How come you wait until you come to Pittsburgh to get hot?' I told them, 'Because I have a lot of relatives and friends here. And by the way, Go Steelers.'

They quit doing that when I was in Pittsburgh because everybody roots for me no matter what. You know how Pittsburgh fans are with the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. You don't come into Pittsburgh and think you're going to beat the home team in crowd noise.

There's excitement that builds up when you have an opportunity to bring another championship back to the city of Pittsburgh. Everybody joins in. I'm a big Crosby fan. I have his jersey. You just hop on. You want to be part of the excitement. We'll be right there with our jerseys on supporting those guys as well. That's just how the city of Pittsburgh is. We're all one big family.

You really don't realize you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back until it comes to an end. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. If this will be his last year, what better way than to finish where it all started?

I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. Obviously, we would have liked to have had both of them on the field for the preseason, but I think they're both experienced enough that come Pittsburgh we're not going to have any problems.

A lot of times, you might think you're just playing football for yourself, for your teammates. But it did make me realize how passionate the Pittsburgh Steelers' fans feel about our team. In 25-degree weather, they came out to congratulate us, and share in the accomplishment. It was pretty special.

He's touched every player in this locker room in some way, somehow. I just didn't want him to go out like that, one game short of the Super Bowl. It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. I appreciate what he's done for my career, and having him come back and winning a Super Bowl where it all started, I'm glad to help him achieve that.

Our people don't usually need to come in the home so there's usually not a need for us to be doing that. We don't collect money in the field so if anybody approaches the house or approaches you with those kind of stories be sure to be a little skeptical.

Right now, teams are saying, 'If we can stop the running game, we can beat the Pittsburgh Steelers,'

I remember playing those ['76 Pittsburgh] Steelers, and my God, when they walked out, we said, 'Are you kidding me?'

We look at it that we're playing the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the winner is the best team in the world.

It was a flashback to when I was a first-round pick in 1995, ... I congratulated him on being drafted by the Steelers. I told him I knew what he was going through. I wanted to welcome him to the city. I told him that Pittsburgh's a small city but it's also a great city. He'll build a lot of good relationships.
