If this is going to be his last year, what better way than to finish his career off where it all started in Detroit? Last year, we were one game short. This year, we're back to that and that's all we ask for is another opportunity. We're in that position to put him back in the Super Bowl.

I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

He's touched every player in this locker room in some way, somehow. I just didn't want him to go out like that, one game short of the Super Bowl. It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. I appreciate what he's done for my career, and having him come back and winning a Super Bowl where it all started, I'm glad to help him achieve that.

We didn't really plan to go this way. It's been twice I had home-field advantage, and we came up short both times. We're one game away from the Super Bowl. We're right back where we were last year.

I think every year there are dark horses that jump onto the scene. It's just facts. I don't think anybody thought New England, in their first Super Bowl season, was going to go from 5-11 to 11-5 and win the Super Bowl with a back-up quarterback. I don't believe anybody thought we were going to do it either. That's just this game.

Never. I said that last year. Once you lose it's over, it's done. It's not going to make you feel any better to win this year. Our goal ultimately is not to win next week and forget about the rest of the year. It's to go to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl. They're just the next step.

We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. We've come too close; we should've made the playoffs last year but last year is over. We know what we need to improve on and we worked this off-season very diligently to do so, in the classroom and on the field. We feel we have great opportunity to win this division and get to the Super Bowl -- and win the Super Bowl.

As a matter of fact, in our Super Bowl year in 2002 we went to Denver on a four-game losing streak, ... Rod Woodson took an interception back 98 yards for a touchdown and really silenced the crowd. It was like that in Pittsburgh, too, the same year and in Buffalo. The fans were really on us and we went up there and got it done.

I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl. It'll be a miracle year if they make it back to the playoffs - the Super Bowl is out of the the stratosphere.

This year the Super Bowl was moved back, so we won't have to worry about TVs running. The Super Bowl will only affect our first team. They'll be competing at the University of Texas in Austin that weekend.

Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. We felt like we were cheating time a little bit right there. We knew we were putting ourselves in this position in 2002, but we had to take our shot at winning back-to-back. We could have done half of this cap-cutting last year, and it wouldn't have been this painful, but I don't think we would have had a real shot to get to the Super Bowl this season.

This injury is dictating the end of my career, whether that's this year, next year or whatever, ... I was able to rehab it and I want to find out if I can still play. Then when I retire I won't have to look back and think I could have had another year or two. I like playing the game, so if it means working hard and getting back in shape to play one more year, I think it's worth it. I know it's worth it.

It's a book waiting to be written. If this will be his last year, what better way than to finish his career off where it all started, in Detroit. . . . A lot of our guys just want to go out and not only play for themselves, but for a guy like Jerome Bettis.

We won the game, and that's all that matters. Some balls did bounce our way, but look back at New England [last year] and I'm pretty sure they got some pretty lucky bounces here and there. Same with all those other teams that went to the Super Bowl. And I'm not saying we're going to the Super Bowl. But the good teams usually get the bounces.
