The Securities Commission's decision has helped a great deal, although the market is still analyzing to what extent it will help corporate results.

In order to sell securities, we must be approved by the securities commission. We couldn't operate in the public eye. But last Thursday we got approval. From that point on, we got great response.

I'd characterize the local economy as relatively strong over all. Commercial real estate, the securities industry, and thus personal income and tax revenues, and, to a lesser extent, the labor market are all showing signs of strengthening. The housing market has shown some signs of cooling recently, but remains pretty strong in terms of levels.

We will find a way to deal with that, ... It's arguable there was no decision taken, just a list of results. So you're not challenging a decision.

This program has attracted new capital to the mortgage securities market, and has created better securities to fit investors needs and further supports our mission.

Good corporate results have boosted the market today but there is still an open-ended question whether we are just seeing a bull rally in a bear market.

Without a big corporate deal it was hard to pull off. People jumped in and helped.
